The UAE Fuel Price Committee announced the new rates on 31 October, and since 1 November every grade of petrol costs 24 fils less per litre. Diesel is down too, but only by 5 fils.

Why did UAE petrol prices drop in November 2026?

Fuel prices in the UAE are reviewed every month. Since 2015, they have not been fixed by the government. Instead, they follow what is happening to oil and fuel prices around the world.

2026 has been a bumpy year for oil. Tension in the region and worries about shipping routes pushed prices higher from August through October, and October's jump was one of the biggest of the year. By late October, global prices had calmed down, and the committee passed that on to drivers with a cut for November. The decision is based on the market across the whole month, so a single good or bad day for oil does not change the price at the pump.

Are UAE petrol prices still close to the 2022 record?

Not as close as last month. The UAE's highest petrol prices were in July 2022: Super 98 hit AED 4.63, Special 95 AED 4.52 and E-Plus 91 AED 4.44 per litre. In October 2026, prices came within about 23 fils of those records, which had many drivers worried. After the November cut, all three grades are now around 47 fils below the record.
