This year GITEX Global is in a new place. After many years at Dubai World Trade Centre, the main show moves to Expo City Dubai and runs in December instead of October. If you are exhibiting, visiting or looking after guests, it is worth planning your GITEX transport before the week starts. Below you will find how the move changes your trip, the easiest ways to get there and what a chauffeur service costs for the week.

GITEX has moved to Expo City: what changes for visitors?
Dubai World Trade Centre, in the middle of the city. Many people walked from their hotel or took a short taxi ride.
Expo City Dubai, in Dubai South near Al Maktoum Airport. From Downtown, DIFC or the Marina it is now a real drive.
The new venue means new roads, new gates and new drop-off points, and nobody has a routine yet. Each morning thousands of visitors arrive at once, and each evening they all leave together. On top of that, the summit on 7 December is still at the World Trade Centre, so some teams will travel to two venues in one week.

How do I get to Expo City Dubai for GITEX?

Red Line to Expo 2020 station. No traffic, but a long ride from the north of the city and not easy with samples or bags.

Staying in Downtown, DIFC or the Marina? Many GITEX visitors will stay in the city and travel to Expo City every day. That means a longer drive each morning and evening than in past years, so a booked car with a fixed pickup time matters more. If your hotel is not chosen yet, plan your GITEX transport at the same time, so you know how early you need to leave each day.
Metro, taxi or cab: which is best for GITEX?
If you are on your own with a small bag, the metro works well. If you are a team, have meetings across town or are hosting guests, a cab with driver usually works out simpler and, split between four or six people, not much more expensive per head. The real difference shows at the end of the day, when everyone leaves at once: your driver is already waiting, while others are still in the taxi queue.
Is there parking at Expo City during GITEX?
Expo City has visitor car parks, but on show days they fill up early and the walk to the halls can be long. Parking details for GITEX will be on the official website closer to the date. With a chauffeur you don't need a space at all: you are dropped at the entrance and picked up from the same spot.
How much does a cab with driver cost for GITEX?
Pick a car by the size of your group. All prices are per vehicle, per hour, with a three-hour minimum.
Most teams book a 10-hour day: from AED 700 in a Lexus ES 350 or AED 1,300 in a V-Class. Several days or several cars are priced as one package. Extra hours start from AED 70.
